Phillips passes his physical before going to West Ham on loan.

Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips passes his physical before going on loan to West Ham.

The midfielder, who has only made 31 appearances for Manchester City since a £45 million acquisition from Leeds in July 2022, passes his physical before a planned loan move to West Ham. Pep Guardiola said in December that he could not see the England midfielder in his squad.

Since joining City for £45 million from Leeds in July 2022, Phillips has only made 31 appearances, and Pep Guardiola stated in December that he does not see the England midfielder playing for his squad.

While he still has the chance to sign a long-term contract with the Hammers, the 28-year-old has already departed the Etihad on a temporary basis.
Along with the rest of the team, Phillips took a Tuesday flight back from Manchester City’s warm-weather training camp in Abu Dhabi.

This month, City was approached by Crystal Palace and Newcastle over a possible move; Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, and Juventus were also said to be interested.

After making just two starts in the Premier League the previous year, Phillips has not managed to start at all this season.

The 28-year-old has made four league appearances this season. Guardiola disclosed prior to the window that he does not see a spot in his lineup, saying, “I visualise the team, and I struggle to see him.”
