With his 20th nomination on Thursday night, LeBron James made history by surpassing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in the record for the most All-Star choices.

Following the announcement of the All-Star starters for each conference, we looked at the players who had the most choices.

For the first time since the 1992–93 season, Utah will host the 72nd NBA All-Star 2023 this season. The “Inside the NBA” crew revealed the starting lineups for both conferences and the two captains earlier on Thursday.

The captain of the Eastern Conference is Giannis Antetokounmpo. Guards Tyrese Haliburton and Damian Lillard trailed the Greek Freak, followed by center Joel Embiid and forward Jayson Tatum.

LeBron James is the captain of the Western Conference since he received the most votes. Nikola Jokic and Kevin Durant are in the starting five, while Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Luka Doncic are the starting backcourt players.

#1, LeBron James, 20

As the starters were revealed, LeBron James made history as he became an All-Star for the 20th straight season. James is averaging 24.8 points, 7.1 rebounds and 7.5 assists per game.

 

#2, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, 19

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, the league’s current scoring leader, was selected 19 times to the All-Star team throughout his career. Kareem participated in 21 seasons and made a lasting impression on the organization. He is renowned for being one of the greatest superstars in addition to being well-known for his skyhook.

 

#3, Kobe Bryant, 18

Kobe Bryant earned eighteen invitations to the LA Lakers All-Star team throughout his illustrious career. Fans chose him as an All-Star despite his injury.
