Miami scores twice in two minutes thanks to goals from Messi and Ruiz.

Watch as David Ruiz steals the stage while Lionel Messi scores from the penalty spot! In the Riyadh Cup match against Al Hilal, Inter Miami scores twice in the space of two minutes as a youngster scores an incredible goal.

Two minutes after Lionel Messi’s penalty kick to start his 2024 campaign, young phenom David Ruiz scored an incredible solo goal.

Messi opened his 2024 Herons account with a clinical goal that pulled the team back to within one goal of Al-Hilal. But Ruiz was the real star of the show. The 19-year-old scored a valiant solo run and then finished amazingly well into the bottom corner of the net to tie the game at three points.

Despite the outstanding two minutes from the pair bringing Inter Miami even, it was ultimately insufficient. The victory was secured in the 88th minute by a goal from former Barcelona winger Malcom. In their first two MLS preseason games, the Herons scored the three goals they were lacking, but their defense broke down as they let up four goals.

Currently on their World Tour for the MLS preseason, the Herons will next play in the Riyadh Cup on Thursday against Cristiano Ronaldo and company. After that, there are three more preseason games until the MLS season officially begins on February 21.
